Hobie Fleet 20 is chartered in San Jose, California. We are part of HCA, Div III (Northern California).
We are a small non-profit sailing club with members living anywhere from Gilroy or Santa Cruz in the southwest, to Hilmar or Modesto in the east, and Sacramento in the north.
We mainly gather March through October once a month, at Woodward Reservoir in Oakdale, California. The wind, air, and water temperatures (←be sure to check out this link for wind info, it is “live info” updated every 3 seconds!) are normally great for Hobie Cat sailing, and other boating and camping activities.
Many in our group compete in Official HCA regattas around Northern and Central California, other states, and sometimes even internationally. Two of Fleet 20’s favorite race events, held nearby, are Wet ‘n Wild Regatta (@ Woodward Reservoir, May 19-20, 2007) and ‘Round TI Regatta (@ Alameda, June 2-3, 2007). Click here for links to other local clubs, or sailing related items.
We have monthly “fun sails” which are great fun, where friends can relax on the beach, or if the wind is good, get in some good practice sailing. Click here to see some recent photos.
Fleet 20 welcomes all Hobie Cat enthusiasts, so come on out and meet the group. Our second funsail of 2007 will be April 14-15 at Woodward. If you come out to the lake, just look for all the sails, you will find us. We try to have a “beach event” (like a horse shoe tournament) and an “on the water event” (like a race) at each one of our monthly gatherings. Last month we had a chili cook-off, and a Beach Bocce Ball tournament. These events change monthly so plan to attend them all!
